Android 8.0 Oreo Update for Asus, Blackberry, Nokia, Honor, etc [Part 1]

A bright screen with high resolution, a chipset with a powerful central and graphics processor – all this can be said about very many modern smartphones, adding to this the magnificent capabilities of their cameras and stylish design. But the functionality of a mobile device is largely determined by its software, which is based on the operating system. When the leading vendors of Android smartphones update their devices to Oreo and what devices will get the long-awaited new software?

Google released Android 8.0 Oreo back in August 2017. And only a few devices have already received an upgrade to this version of the most popular of mobile operating systems. Most smartphones work under the control of earlier OS versions. When will the most popular phones of the most important vendors of the smart device market receive an update?

Usually, if a smartphone is released no more than two years ago, it remains a hope that they will receive an update to the latest version of the OS. However, everything depends on the particular model of the device. Until the release of Android 8.0 Oreo, the most recent version of the operating system was Android 7.1.2 Nougat, and it is still not available for most phones.

Alcatel Android 8.0 Oreo Update

It is noted that only one smartphone from this brand is waiting for the upgrade to Android Oreo. It’s about the recently introduced Idol 5S. It should be noted that this smartphone is the only Alcatel product running Android 7.1.1 Nougat. The phones of the company of the budgetary price segment – A50, A30 Plus and A30 – are running Android 7.0 Nougat. However, Alcatel also reported that someday Nougat will update the software of its last year’s Idol 4S, originally running under Marshmallow.

Probably, and this time the update will be released, users only have some time to wait.

One of the reasons for the delay is the need for the company to add its ZenUI shell over the new operating system. As it is reported, with Oreo it will be updated to version 4.0.
